COMPOUNDING FRACTIONS The present series of works relies primarily on recycled paper as the source material collected in fragments and compiled. In nature I have observed, and always been intrigued by the cyclical motion of growth aiming for and reaching the fleeting moment of its realization, the subsequent consummation of this moment, decay and [...]

Looking past the confines of the given space these six emerging contemporary jewellers will exhibit their work on a transformed landscape. Stretching the fabric of convention tight over traditional forms the dance of light promises to swing to a delirious rhythm. The artists involved are all alumni of Munich’s Academy of Fine Art and [...]

The shape of the jewelry seems at first to be a whole, coherent construct. A closer look reveals the fragile delicacy of the thread wrapping the air. One careless moment, a single wrong movement, can crumple the jewelry and create crevices. The tendency is to offhandedly reject whatever is deemed imperfect, transient [...]

“Ritual” Exhibition of Estonian Contemporary Jewelry

Students from the Estonian Academy of Arts Department of Jewellery and Blacksmithing and the õhuLoss group set their works into the environment of Israel in order to introduce Estonian jewellery and nature of our intellectual culture through  ritualized behavior. It is one of the biggest exhibitions about estonian contemporary jewellery – it shows 150 [...]

Dina Abargil

My works are conceptual in nature. I combine organic and industrial materials with precious metals. After thoroughly researching each material to be used, I then investigate the conversation between those various materials, with the will to create harmonic and wearable pieces. I admire the jewelry by Dina Abargil. Recently I read on Alchimia’s blog that [...]

Deganit Stern Schocken

These pieces are from 1993 and 1994. Studio Fusion Gallery. A simple line allows us [...]

Kobi Roth

2 bracelets

Són dos peces contraposades, l’una abarrocada, dura i perillosa, l’altra fràgil i minimalista. Tots dos són artistes nominats a la New Traditional Jewellery.

Esther Knobel
