At university I studied Nihonga the traditional way of Japanese painting which I then continued far some years. This training way still somehow influences my present work.
The works are painted with the ink “Sumi”. The thickness of the resulting ink can be varied according to my preference by reducing or increasing the intensity and time of grinding. The thickness of the resulting ink means the gradation from black to write.
The Japanese culture also influences my work. The act of holding has been nurtured in Japan’s long history. Concretely I make a sheet with the handloom and fold it into 3D jewelry using the Japanese traditional technique that is ORIGAMI. It is most suitable way of production. Folding a piece of sheet requires only my figures.
