Alina Carp

Everything I make is impregnated with the feelings that I experience. As these are continuously spiraling, my creation shifted and evolved along the time from one emotional direction to another. Love, sadness and fear describes the best the mood that drove me to create “UNDISCLOSED”,  a collection of contemporary jewelry which speaks about my inner voices. UNDISCLOSED is a starting point of other new directions that I am very eager to explore!

My art is a way of telling the world things that I cannot say in another manner and is also my solution of unloading the heavy burden of worries, doubts and hesitations.

Alina Carp is a Romanian jeweler who participated in the last edition of the JOYA fair in Barcelona where I met her for the first time and she told me about her work. Some weeks later I met her at the Sieraad fair in Amsterdam. Alina will take part in the exhibition “The Parallel Worlds,” curated by Juan Riusech, at Alliages in Lille (France) next December. She is also a teacher and has her own resin workshop at the Assemblage Contemporary Jewelry School in Bucharest. For more information please visit her website and her Facebook Fan Page.
