Solo Exhibition by April Higashi at Shibumi Gallery

The abstract imagery painted in my enamels in the past emerged after snorkeling in Hawaii above the natural coral reefs. Swimming above the majestic beauty, I did not want to directly copy what I saw but instead convey the feelings experienced as I looked at the forms and moved through the water.

April Higashi is presenting her first solo Jewelry Show at her own Shibumi Gallery, paired with the paintings of Aondrea Maynard. The exhibition runs until December 4th.

I can imagine the scene which inspired this work and yes, I'm jealous! You've interpreted that sense of wonder at what lies beneath, which is part of the snorkelling experience, beautifully.
