Andreas Schiffler Betweeen Formentera and Barcelona

I met Andreas Schiffler ten years ago in Formentera. He set up home on the island in 1993 where he has since worked as a jeweler and now sells his pieces at La Mola Artisanal Market.

Vaig conèixer l’Andreas Schiffler fa deu anys a Formentera.

A few days ago I visited him in Barcelona at La Casa de la Espiral where he shares a workshop with painter Nora López Millán, sculptor and jeweler Fernando De Blasi, and jeweler Eugen Steier. A few years ago, Andreas decided to live in Barcelona during the coldest months where he has been lucky to feel very well-received at this space in the Gràcia district. He enthusiastically tells me how, little by little, he collaborated to improve the workshop by incorporating a zone with showcases for finished works.

Usually his jewels have geometrical forms using silver, gold, and precious and semi-precious stones. He likes to experiment and explained to me how he has recently been working with kum boo, a Korean technique that allows him new possibilities for creation.

Les seves joies adopten quasi sempre formes geomètriques utilitzant plata, or i pedres precioses i semi-precioses.

Andreas seeks perfection and balance.  He loves his work and every one of his pieces transmits a little of bit of his way.

His words / Les seves paraules:
I work from the influence of everything I perceive over what I do.
Playing with geometrical forms, textures and colours I sublimate my impressions reflecting feelings related with the environment, which are always abstract.

One of my goals when I create my work is not to trespass certain limits of uncomfortability so as it can be enjoyed and shared easily.

You can buy Adreas Schiffler‘s jewelry in Paris, Dusseldorf and Barcelona. From May to October you can meet him at La Mola Artisanal Market in Formentera and the rest of the year at La Casa de La Espiral in Barcelona.
